DITA Session 1 Reflections

Starting the Digital Information Technologies and Architectures module at City seemed a little daunting. However, the introduction today is reassuring in that it has started from the basics. The main focus of the exercises seems to be recognising the role of formats in being able to meaningfully access the content of a file. In addition to this Andy also introduced the question of what is a document? and the possibilities of working in a document centred rather than a file centred way. This seems to look towards the increasing predominance of the internet or web as a default in information retrieval and communication media.
